POSITION SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and executing daily maintenance operations within the store. This includes performing preventive and corrective maintenance on store systems, equipment, and facilities. The ideal candidate will have journeyman-level skills—particularly in plumbing and refrigeration—and the ability to complete both minor repairs and general facility upkeep.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and oversee daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks for new and existing store systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, refrigeration, and mechanical systems.
  • Complete minor repairs, including drywall patching, fixture replacement, light carpentry, and general handyman tasks.
  • Monitor and maintain HVAC, electrical, and refrigeration systems, escalating major issues when needed.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and reports; follow store compliance procedures.
  • Assist with seasonal tasks, including snow removal, floor care, and other store-specific duties.
  • Ensure tools, materials, and supplies are maintained and stored properly.
  • Work closely with the Store Manager and external contractors to coordinate larger repair projects or inspections.
  • Ensure all work is completed in a safe and timely manner, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Respond quickly to urgent maintenance requests to minimize disruption to store operations.

Qualifications:

  • Journeyman certification (preferred) or equivalent experience in plumbing, refrigeration, or general maintenance.
  • Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a retail or commercial setting.
  • Working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration).
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Must be organized, reliable, and proactive.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather and physical conditions.
