Description

Our client, a unionized food manufacturer, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the installation, repair, and maintenance of machinery, ensuring smooth operations and safety standards. QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance management in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with refrigeration systems, boilers, and centrifugal equipment (e.g., rendering equipment, pumps, conveyors) an asset.
  • Refrigeration B Ticket (preferred), Ontario Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (433A) Certificate (asset).
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming, food safety, and regulatory standards (CFIA, GMP, HACCP, OHSA, WHMIS).
  • Tow Motor License (preferred).

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate maintenance staff (Level 1-5, Stationary Engineers Class 2 & 4).
  • Mentor technicians and operators, ensuring efficient troubleshooting of mechanical, refrigeration, and electrical issues.
  • Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on critical equipment (boilers, refrigeration, rendering machinery).
  • Oversee the preventive maintenance program and ensure compliance with safety and food safety standards (CFIA, GMP, HACCP).
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and manage inventory.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with OHSA and WHMIS regulations.
  • Collaborate with production teams to minimize disruptions and resolve equipment-related issues.
