Description Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor Department: Maintenance Reports To: Maintenance Director Position Summary: The Maintenance Supervisor leads and coordinates a small maintenance team to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all manufacturing equipment, systems, and facilities across two production sites. This role combines technical expertise with supervisory responsibilities—directing staff, setting priorities, and driving improvements in downtime reduction and preventive maintenance. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Director, the supervisor is a key liaison for the Quality and Production departments to ensure operational alignment. Core Responsibilities: Team Leadership & Safety Enforcement - Prioritize human safety and food safety equally in all maintenance activities, ensuring a "safety-first" culture. - Enforce strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), OSHA regulations, and company safety policies. - Supervise and mentor maintenance technicians (1-2 personnel), including daily task assignments, performance evaluations, and scheduling. - Lead shift meetings to review performance, safety topics, and production support needs across various departments. Operational Excellence - Coordinate maintenance tasks across two facilities to minimize disruptions and reduce downtime for sauce and dressing lines. - Troubleshoot and direct repair work on mechanical, electrical (up to 480V), pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. - Oversee the execution of preventive maintenance (PM) programs and continuous improvement initiatives. - Analyze recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions and reliability improvements. Administrative & Strategic Support - Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, parts usage, and equipment history for audit and compliance purposes. - Provide input into maintenance budgets, parts inventory needs, and capital improvement plans to the Maintenance Manager. - Respond to emergency maintenance situations and coordinate after-hours support when needed to maintain production continuity. Required Qualifications: - Experience & Safety Mindset: 4+ years of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance with a proven track record of following and enforcing GMPs and safety standards. - Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical troubleshooting, hydraulics, and pneumatics. - Diagnostics: Ability to diagnose and repair issues with motors, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, and control systems common in liquid filling environments. - Leadership: Ability to lead others effectively and work independently with minimal supervision across multiple departments. - Physical Standards: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or at heights. - Steady job growth employment with same company - Bilingual is a major plus but not required Work Environment: - This position is performed in a manufacturing environment where exposure to machinery, noise, and moving mechanical parts is expected. - Continuous use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and strict adherence to food safety protocols (GMPs) is required.
