KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • 3-5 years previous experience
  • Trades/maintenance experience an asset
  • Basic plumbing and electrical skills
  • Ability to stand for 8-hour shift, walking, lifting
  • Bending, stooping, push and pull, circular motion for dusting and cleaning
  • Physically demanding job
  • Manual dexterity required to use various cleaning apparatus and supplies
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Fast paced working environment
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to communicate with all levels in the organization

Responsibilities
  • Ensures all assigned areas are kept clean, safe and hygienic
  • Ensures additional preventative maintenance schedules are developed and adhered to.
  • Ensure the hotels performance standards are adhered to
  • Coordinates the inventory, purchasing, and disbursement of some maintenance supplies.
  • Ensures proper sanitation procedures are followed
  • Inspects and ensures safety controls and facility equipment is in good working order
  • Ensures building and grounds are clean including snow removal, grass maintenance and overall safety on the property.
  • Monitoring and inspecting equipment
  • Advises General Manager of any stock shortages, therefore minimizing delays in maintenance of any rooms or projects
  • Works and develops good working relationships with external contractors for additional work required.
  • Responds to guest and staff inquiries, requests and complaints in a prompt and courteous manner
  • Takes responsibility to always ensure maximum guest satisfaction
  • Perform rotation cleaning duties such as but not limited to steam cleaning carpets, blinds, common area(s).
  • Assist with event coordination, set up and clean up as required.
  • Communicating to the general manager / leadership any concerns you observe
  • Going on ladders and roofs for inspection of lights and roof conditions/ air conditioning unit inspection/ maintenance and repairs
  • Other duties as assigned by organizational demands.
