JOB SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Director, the Maintenance Supervisor coordinates daily operations, manages technical staff, and follows up on interventions. A true resource person in the field, he or she acts with thoroughness, flexibility and leadership to respond to emergencies, optimize equipment reliability, and support the development of his or her team.

REQUIREMENTS, QUALITIES AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Experience: Minimum ten (10) years of experience in industrial/electromechanical maintenance with five (5) years of supervisory experience.
  • Education: DEP in electromechanics or DEP in industrial mechanics or College diploma in mechanical engineering. Any combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Leadership: Ability to mobilize, coach, and motivate a team.
  • Organizational skills: Ability to structure work and implement your own tools.
  • Priority Management: Effective under pressure, results-oriented, and able to meet deadlines. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a constantly changing environment.
  • Autonomy and judgment: Proactive, resourceful, able to make decisions quickly.
  • OHS: Practical knowledge of occupational health and safety standards.
  • Technical skills: expertise in mechanics, electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, robotics or programming.
  • Technical curiosity: Interest in understanding how machines work and how to optimize them.
  • Collaboration and teamwork: Consultative approach with production, maintenance and engineering teams.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate clearly with all levels of the organization, adjusting your message to suit your audience. Internal customer service skills.
  • Good physical condition.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle to travel between our factories and buildings in the industrial park in Laval.
  • Computer knowledge: Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, CMMS, ERP, or other similar systems.
  • Languages: Advanced French and functional English.
Responsibilities
  • Work organization and day-to-day management
  • Planning interventions: Distribute maintenance tasks (e.g., die changes) to ensure operations start efficiently, taking into account unforeseen events and last-minute adjustments.
  • Operational responsiveness: Monitoring tasks, manage emergencies related to production equipment and building infrastructure, with the ability to review priorities in real time.
  • Operational follow-up: Validate machine downtime, adjust planning, verify and transmit hours worked to the payroll team.
  • Field inspection and validation: Perform daily floor rounds, lockout and task audits to ensure compliance, safety and quality of work performed.
  • Urgent purchases: Make and track purchases of parts and tools needed for maintenance, in line with work orders and immediate field needs.
  • Communication: Actively participate in daily and weekly meetings with management, ensuring the transfer of information between shifts.
  • Subcontractor coordination: Follow up on work permits, purchase orders, and OHS compliance.
