Description

Position: Maintenance Supervisor
Department: Maintenance
Reports To: Maintenance Superintendent
Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor oversees all maintenance operations at Mission Forest Products, including preventive maintenance planning, scheduling, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment. This role ensures safe, efficient, and reliable performance of mill machinery, yard equipment, and supporting systems. The supervisor also provides leadership, motivates team members, and enforces compliance with company standards and safety policies.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and manage Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs with the Superintendent and Planner.
· Assign, document, and close electrical and mechanical PM work orders.
· Oversee maintenance of sawmill/planer mill machinery, waste & dust systems, dry kilns, and yard equipment.
· Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems up to 480 volts, including 3-phase motors and VFDs.
· Install, maintain, and replace electrical, mechanical, and electronic devices.
· Review blueprints, diagrams, and schematics to guide work.
· Enforce safety policies (LOTO, Hot Work, PPE, forklift safety, fall protection, etc.).
· Conduct accident investigations and enforce return-to-work and violation policies.
· Identify root causes of downtime and implement corrective actions.
· Partner with HR, Safety, and Training as needed.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Industrial electrical experience up to 480 volts (controls & instrumentation).
· Hands-on experience with VFDs, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.
· Strong troubleshooting skills in a production/industrial environment.
· Ability to read/interpret technical drawings and schematics.
· Knowledge of PLC controls (preferred).
· Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; CMMS experience preferred.
· Strong organizational, communication, and leadership abilities.
· Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
Physical Requirements
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights when needed
· Suitable agility and stamina to permit negotiation of stairs, elevated work platforms, ladders and walking on uneven terrain
