Maintenance Supervisor Salary: Up to $92,000 (Depending on Experience) Location: Henrico, VA Employment Type: Direct Hire Shift: 1st shift (must be flexible to support other shifts as needed) Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to support a high-volume manufacturing and packaging operation. This role is responsible for ensuring reliable, compliant operation of automated equipment while driving continuous improvement across electrical, PLC, and mechanical systems. The operation runs three shifts; this is primarily a 1st shift role with flexibility to support other shifts when required. Job Summary The Maintenance Supervisor maintains and improves high-tech automated manufacturing and packaging equipment. Responsibilities include electrical control systems, PLCs, hydraulics/pneumatics, mechanical systems, and computer-based maintenance systems. This role works closely with production teams and supports scheduling, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, compliance documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives in a regulated manufacturing environment. \n Essential Functions: Maintain and troubleshoot filling and packaging equipment, including electromechanical systems Troubleshoot and support PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servomotors, and encoders Perform electrical troubleshooting and repair (starters, fuses, relays, wiring, breakers, etc.) Execute and manage preventive maintenance programs for electrical and safety systems Diagnose electrical issues with or without blueprints; document methods of operation and control Analyze downtime and OEE data; implement improvement initiatives Ensure equipment remains in a validated state impacting product quality Order and manage repair parts inventory Collaborate with maintenance technicians during troubleshooting activities Enforce cGMPs, safety, regulatory, and quality standards Maintain clean, organized work areas following 5S principles Ensure machine guarding, interlocks, and safety devices are properly installed and maintained Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and identify situational hazards Manage the Preventive Maintenance System within a computerized maintenance platform Drive process and equipment improvements to support quality, efficiency, and cost goals Interface daily with Quality, Engineering, HR, Materials, Training, and Production teams Support departmental budgeting, labor planning, and operational performance metrics Assist in interviewing and selecting maintenance personnel (mechanics and electricians) Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field Strong background in both electrical and mechanical trades 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment and/or supervisory role Journeyman card or electrical certification preferred Experience supervising large hourly and exempt workforces Background in consumer goods, cosmetic, pharmaceutical, or regulated manufacturing preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills Ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels High level of technical expertise with high-speed manufacturing and packaging equipment Results-oriented with familiarity in lean manufacturing principles Experience working in FDA- or ISO-regulated environments Compensation & Benefits Competitive compensation based on experience 401(k) with company match and immediate vesting Paid holidays, sick time, and personal days Company-paid short-term disability and life insurance Benefits: 401(k) matching Life insurance Paid time off \n
