Overview
Reporting to the Director & Executive Chef, the Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing all maintenance related items across all of Ravine’s properties. This role will also be accountable for ensuring that all preventative maintenance and upkeep of tools and equipment are scheduled and completed on time.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Oversees Maintenance and Custodial team to ensure responsibilities are being met with projects, landscaping, snow removal and spring and fall cleanup; provides assistance when needed.
  • Coordinates snow removal and landscaping with contractors.
  • Monitors supply of paper goods, soaps and chemicals. Places appropriate orders in a timly manner.
  • Responsible for daily functioning and understanding of industrial equipment; tools, HVAC systems are meeting compliance and safety standards.
  • Perform testing, inspection and maintenance of all machinery.
  • Oversees all renovations, refurbishments and projects.
  • Oversees contractors when professional repairs are required.
  • Accountable for the overall cleanliness of the property.
  • Places communication with Manager and co-workers high priority with email, written communication and scheduled meetings as necessary.
  • Makes health & safety a priority; partners with JHSC and HR to eliminate hazards.
  • Diagnoses and repairs mechanical and minor automotive issues as required.
  • Conducts inspections of property and equipment.
  • Relocates furniture and equipment as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

People & Culture

  • Creates weekly staff schedule according to business needs.
  • Reviews and finalizes employee timesheets for payroll in Dayforce.
  • Leads recruitment and selection of Maintenance team.
  • Plans and leads training for team.
  • Assists in onboarding, training, managing and offboarding of staff within team.
  • Provides leadership, mentorship and direction to team.
  • Provides positive motivators to team to ensure expectations and standards are being met.
  • Completes performance reviews for team, giving meaningful feedback on performance and potential.
  • Shares accountability for overall engagement, productivity, turnover and bench strength of team.
  • Ensures constant communication with staff and peers, holding regular meetings and training sessions to ensure alignment of priorities and goals.
  • Executes other tasks and duties as required.

Educational & Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience performing maintenance work in a hospitality company.
  • Minimum 1 year experience supervising staff, preferably in a maintenance environment.
  • Valid G class license required.
  • Counterbalance Forklift Certificate preferred.
  • OSSD, GED or equivalent.
  • Additional trade or skill certificates considered an asset.
