Maintenance Supervisor Detroit, MI Full Time/On-Site $130K Salary depending on experience A long-established industrial materials producer is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor – to lead the mechanical maintenance team supporting surface production and processing equipment. This role is responsible for overseeing equipment reliability, preventive maintenance programs, repair prioritization, safety compliance, and day-to-day leadership of maintenance personnel. The supervisor ensures maintenance activities are executed safely and efficiently while supporting continuous improvement and operational uptime in a heavy industrial environment. The organization operates a large-scale materials production facility and distributes products across North America. Required: 3+ years of experience working with heavy industrial equipment such as conveyors, crushers, screens, or bulk material handling systems 2+ years of supervisory or lead maintenance experience in an industrial environment Experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and equipment specifications Experience working in safety-regulated industrial environments preferred Strong leadership skills with a hands-on approach to problem solving Responsibilities Plan, organize, and lead mechanical maintenance activities supporting surface production operations Manage preventive maintenance (PM) programs and prioritize equipment repairs Direct field and shop repairs on critical production and processing equipment Support major repair projects and technical improvement initiatives Manage spare parts inventory, procurement requests, and maintenance materials Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies Conduct regular safety meetings and training with maintenance personnel Coach, mentor, and supervise maintenance technicians and mechanics Evaluate team performance and support corrective actions when required Maintain strong communication and ensure compliance with operational procedures Required: 3+ years of experience working with heavy industrial equipment such as conveyors, crushers, screens, or bulk material handling systems 2+ years of supervisory or lead maintenance experience in an industrial environment Experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and equipment specifications Experience working in safety-regulated industrial environments preferred Strong leadership skills with a hands-on approach to problem solving
