THE COMPANY:

A leading packaging manufacturer known for delivering innovative, high-quality packaging solutions to clients across North America is currently looking for a Maintenance Supervisor in the Greater Hamilton Area on the night shift (8 hour shifts). Their commitment to safety, sustainability, and operational excellence drives their continued growth and success.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations of our client’s plant on the night shift (8 hour shifts), leading a team of technicians to ensure equipment reliability, preventative maintenance, and safe work practices.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, including a valid trade certification, and experience in a manufacturing environment leading the company’s skilled trades team in ensuring the optimal performance of their production and facility equipment.

  • Supervise, schedule, and support maintenance staff in mechanical, electrical, and general facility maintenance tasks
  • Plan and oversee preventative maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime
  • compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex equipment issues in a timely manner
  • Coordinate with production and engineering teams to support manufacturing needs
  • Maintain maintenance records, inventory of parts, and order supplies as needed
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reliability
  • Train and mentor tradespeople and apprentices

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, including supervisory or team lead experience
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or TPM practices

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Ontario trade certification (e.g., Millwright 433A, Electrician 442A/309A, or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of packaging or manufacturing equipment (e.g., conveyors, PLCs, pneumatic systems)
  • Proven leadership and organizational skills with a focus on safety and quality
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of applicable ESA, OHSA, and TSSA standards

EDUCATION:

Valid Ontario trade certification (e.g., Millwright 433A, Electrician 442A/309A, or equivalent)
