The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing assigned buildings within the Sullivan University System to ensure facilities are operating properly. Hours for the position are 7:30 am-4:30 pm with flexibility needed for emergencies and weather-related situations. Responsibilities of the position include: Ensures the efficient function of building operations and assists faculty, staff, and students with building matters. Determines material, equipment, and supplies to be used. Coordinates transfer of equipment and personnel from one campus to another as necessary. Coordinates renovations of existing facilities and the construction of new facilities. Coordinates and inspects major contract work on the electrical, plumbing, mechanical and other related systems in assigned locations. Assists other Maintenance Supervisors, Maintenance Assistants, and Grounds Keepers as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent. A minimum of three years of experience in maintenance supervision. An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered. Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and efficiently while meeting required deadlines. Knowledge of applicable OSHA standards. Knowledge of applicable safety practices and procedures. Basic computer skills, to include use of Microsoft Outlook and Word and the internet. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to physically maneuver about the facilities of the system, including bending, lifting, stooping, pushing, and pulling as necessary to perform maintenance work. Must be able to hear and speak well enough to communicate with students, faculty, and staff face to face and via the telephone.
