JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a versatile Maintenance Support Engineer to provide technical maintenance, troubleshooting, and end-user support across server, network, IoT, and endpoint systems.
This role requires on-site/remote problem resolution during business hours and occasional after-hours support for critical systems. You will maintain CCTV, access controls, IoT sensors, and end-user devices while ensuring minimal downtime through proactive maintenance and rapid incident response.

REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Diploma in IT, Computer Engineering, Electronics, or related field.

Experience & Skills:

  • More than 2 years in IT maintenance roles covering 3 or more of the following:
  • End-user computing (hardware/OS support)
  • IoT device maintenance (sensors, cameras, gateways)
  • Server/storage troubleshooting
  • Network device configuration (switches, firewalls, APs)
  • Proficiency in:
  • Hardware diagnostics tools (e.g. POST testers, multimeters)
  • Remote support software (TeamViewer, RDP)
  • Basic scripting (PowerShell/Bash for automation)

Technical Knowledge:

  • OS: Windows Server, Linux distros, macOS
  • Networking: TCP/IP, VLANs, VPN, Wi-Fi protocols
  • IoT: Understanding of RS-485, Modbus, MQTT data flows
  • Security: Device hardening, patch management cycles

Certifications (Preferred):

  • CompTIA A+/Network+, ITIL Foundation
  • Vendor-specific (e.g., Dell/HP hardware, Cisco CCNA, Axis CCTV)

Physical & Shift Requirements:

  • Ability to lift/move equipment.
  • Willingness for occasional after-hours/weekend work (on-call rotation).
  • Own transportation for on-site client visits.

Responsibilities
  1. Hardware Maintenance & Repair

Perform diagnostics, component replacement, and repairs for:

  • End-user devices (laptops, desktops, mobile devices)
  • IoT equipment (sensors, gateways, surveillance cameras)
  • Server/storage hardware (racks, drives, power supplies)

Manage warranty claims and vendor coordination for faulty hardware.

  1. Software & System Support
  • Install, patch, and troubleshoot OS (Windows/macOS/Linux) and applications (Office 365, antivirus, specialized tools).
  • Configure email clients, VPNs, and network connectivity for end-users.
  • Maintain IoT device firmware/software and surveillance system NVRs.
  1. IoT & Network Device Maintenance
  • Test/replace failing sensors (temperature, motion, access controls).
  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues in wireless/wired networks (routers, switches, APs).
  • Validate data flow from IoT devices to monitoring dashboards.
  1. Proactive Maintenance & Compliance
  • Execute scheduled maintenance checks for servers, storage, and network infrastructure.
  • Update asset inventories and maintenance logs.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies during device disposal/repurposing.
  1. Emergency & After-Hours Support
  • Provide on-call support for P1/P2 incidents (e.g., system outages, security breaches).
  • Coordinate with vendors for emergency repairs outside business hours.
