Job Description We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable full-time Maintenance Team Member to join our team at Novotel Leeds Centre. At Novotel Leeds Centre, we welcome you as you are and support you to grow, learn, and develop every day. Shift details: Shifts typically run between 7:00am and 5:30pm. Days and times may vary depending on business needs, and weekend availability is essential. Full flexibility across the week is required. This is a full-time position. What we are looking for: Previous hands-on maintenance experience is essential, ideally within a hotel or hospitality environment. The successful candidate must be confident carrying out routine maintenance tasks independently, using their own initiative and sound judgement, while also working effectively as part of the wider team. This role requires someone with strong practical knowledge who can identify issues, troubleshoot problems, and complete basic repairs safely and efficiently, in accordance with all relevant Health and Safety procedures and regulations. What you will be doing: Carry out preventative maintenance and regular safety checks across the hotel. Respond to maintenance requests from guests and colleagues in a timely and professional manner. Undertake general maintenance tasks, including basic plumbing, electrical work, painting, decorating, carpentry, and repairs. Conduct routine inspections of hotel areas, equipment, appliances, and systems. Troubleshoot faults and carry out appropriate basic repairs where required. Follow hotel security, fire safety, and Health and Safety procedures at all times. Assist guests with enquiries regarding the hotel’s facilities in an informative, professional, and helpful manner. Please note that duties are not limited to those listed above. Qualifications Your experience and skills include: Relevant building maintenance experience is an asset Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities A practical, hands-on approach with a positive attitude Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team A willingness to learn, develop, and take on new challenges Hotel maintenance experience would be beneficial, but it is not essential.
