About the Role The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep and repair of machinery, equipment, and systems within our cold storage facility. This role requires a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and resolving issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems. What You’ll Do * Perform routine maintenance and inspections on machinery, equipment, and systems, including refrigeration units, conveyors, and material handling equipment. * Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration issues to ensure the smooth operation of the facility. * Follow safety protocols and procedures while performing maintenance tasks, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). * Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs. * Assist in the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime. * Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager and other team members to prioritize and schedule maintenance tasks. * Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests to minimize operational disruptions. * Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. What You Bring to the Pak * Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a maintenance role, preferably in a cold storage or similar environment. * Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance or a related field is preferred. * Certifications: [required/preferred certifications – e.g., “HACCP, BRC required. OSHA certification a plus.”] * Skills: * Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems. * Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. * Proficient in the use of hand and power tools. * Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others. * Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed. Physical Requirements * Ability to work in cold storage environments as low as -10°F * Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, up to 50 pounds. * Ability to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods. Pay Range: $16.81 – $23.41 per hour This pay range represents the Company’s good-faith estimate of the starting hourly compensation for this role at the time of posting. The actual rate will be determined based on a combination of factors including experience, qualifications, work location, and internal pay alignment, in accordance with applicable laws.
