The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the daily upkeep, preventive maintenance, and general repairs of the building’s systems and facilities, ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for residents. Key Responsibilities: * Complete resident service requests in a timely and professional manner. * Respond to building emergencies and participate in on-call rotation as needed. * Conduct preventive maintenance tasks, including filter changes, lubrication, and minor adjustments. * Maintain common areas (lobby, hallways, amenities, parking garage, etc.) in clean and operational condition. * Assist with property inspections and vendor coordination for specialized repairs or services. * Ensure tools, inventory, and maintenance supplies are well-stocked and properly stored. * Follow all safety procedures, including use of personal protective equipment (PPE). * Support tasks such as pressure washing, and exterior upkeep. Qualifications: * High school diploma or GED required; trade school or technical certification preferred. * 2+ years of maintenance or building operations experience (residential or commercial). * Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems highly desired. * Ability to troubleshoot and repair building systems and perform minor carpentry/painting tasks. * Strong customer service and communication skills. * Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in indoor/outdoor conditions * Must speak and understand English proficiently Preferred Skills: * Experience in a condominium, multifamily, or hospitality environment * Bilingual in Spanish a plus Benefits:  * 17 PTO days off-- includes vacation, sick, and personal time off * 10 paid holidays * Your birthday off * 1 floating holiday * Medical. dental, & vision benefits after 30 days and 401k after 90 days * AKAM offer career growth opportunity AKAM is committed to maintaining a diverse workforce and an inclusive work environment.
