Description
Description We are seeking a reliable, hands-on Maintenance Tech to support the upkeep, safety, and functionality of our buildings and grounds. This role is ideal for someone with strong “handyman” capabilities who takes pride in fixing, building, and improving things. This position plays a critical role in supporting our EHS and production teams by ensuring the facility operates safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company goals. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, resourceful, and prefers solving problems independently rather than relying on outside vendors whenever possible. Requirements Perform general building maintenance, repairs, and improvements across the property (interior and exterior). Maintain facility grounds, including lawn care, snow removal, and general site upkeep. Conduct basic pest control and prevention to maintain a clean and safe environment. Install and maintain safety equipment, including harness systems and related safety infrastructure. Utilize a wide range of tools and equipment safely and effectively to complete maintenance tasks. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems, equipment, and facility-related issues. Support minor electrical repairs and maintenance (within scope of knowledge and safety guidelines). Perform modifications or improvements to facility structures to support operational and production needs. Coordinate and oversee third-party vendors (e.g., septic services, electricians, overhead door technicians), ensuring work is completed safely and to standard. Prioritize and complete work orders efficiently, balancing urgent repairs with preventative maintenance. Partner with EHS and production teams to maintain compliance, safety, and operational efficiency. Identify opportunities to reduce costs by completing work in-house when appropriate. Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance areas in an organized and safe condition. Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. 3+ years of experience in general maintenance, facilities, or handyman-type roles preferred in a manufacturing environment. Mechanical aptitude required; experience with electrical systems strongly preferred. Experience managing or working alongside third-party contractors/vendors preferred. Skills & Competencies Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills. Working knowledge of tools, equipment, and maintenance best practices. Basic electrical knowledge and repair capability (preferred). Ability to work independently and take initiative. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Excellent time management and ability to prioritize tasks. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multiple teams. Safety-focused mindset with knowledge of workplace safety practices. Resourceful and cost-conscious approach to repairs and maintenance. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50+ pounds regularly. Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing ladders, and working at heights. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to safely operate maintenance tools, equipment, and machinery.
Responsibilities
The Maintenance Tech is responsible for performing general building repairs, grounds maintenance, and troubleshooting mechanical systems to ensure facility safety and efficiency. They will also coordinate with third-party vendors and support production teams to maintain operational standards.
