What you will be doing: A Manufacturing Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of machinery, equipment, and systems within a manufacturing facility. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance to ensure continuous, efficient production while minimizing downtime. Responsibilities: Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on a variety of production machinery and equipment, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules to avoid equipment breakdowns and prolong the life of machinery. Conduct inspections and replace worn-out parts or components as necessary. Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions, identifying the root cause of issues and addressing them promptly to minimize production disruptions. Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment or machinery, ensuring that all systems are properly aligned, calibrated, and functioning according to specifications. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and replacement of parts. Update machine logs, maintenance schedules, and parts inventory. Follow all safety protocols and wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when performing maintenance tasks. Ensure all work is completed in compliance with health and safety regulations. Work with production supervisors, engineers, and other maintenance team members to resolve issues and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). Respond to emergency breakdowns promptly, ensuring that machinery is repaired quickly to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules. Monitor and manage spare parts inventory to ensure that necessary parts are on hand for repairs and preventative maintenance. Suggest and implement improvements to maintenance processes, equipment, and safety practices to enhance productivity, reduce downtime, and improve operational efficiency. Qualifications Skills & Qualifications: Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems used in manufacturing equipment. Experience in developing and executing maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure the reliability of machinery. Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to quickly identify and resolve equipment malfunctions. Familiarity with machinery operation, control systems, and industrial automation. Ability to closely monitor equipment performance and identify potential issues before they cause significant downtime. Knowledge of safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), and the use of PPE when working with machinery and hazardous materials. Ability to effectively communicate with production teams, supervisors, and other stakeholders to address issues and coordinate repairs. Ability to lift heavy parts, stand for long periods, and work in physically demanding environments. Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational training in maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related field is often preferred). Previous experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment is typically required. Certification in industrial maintenance, electrical systems, or related fields may be preferred. Experience with specific equipment or industries (e.g., CNC machines, conveyors, automation systems) may be beneficial. What’s in it for you?
