Now Hiring: Full-time Maintenance Tech II with Geauga Metropolitan Housing Authority Location: Chardon, Ohio | Pay: $21.69/hour | Schedule: 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with overtime available and an on-call schedule What You'll Need: 2+ years of hands-on residential or commercial maintenance experience Basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills Ability to serve properties in Chardon, Newbury, Middlefield, and Chagrin Falls High school degree or equivalent Valid driver's license with a clean driving record What Would Be Nice to Have: Technical certification or vocational training in a skilled trade, such as HVAC, electrical, facility maintenance, etc. 3+ years of progressive maintenance experience, preferably in public housing or multi-unit residential properties Experience using work order systems or property management software Core Responsibilities: Our Maintenance Tech II is in charge of keeping our residential properties in excellent condition for new and existing tenants. You'll travel between our five properties, skillfully completing work orders and performing routine maintenance to maintain regulatory compliance and prevent major breakdowns. Tackling a variety of hands-on responsibilities, you'll work on plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems as well as perform basic carpentry and drywall work. You'll promptly complete service requests, document your work, and treat residents respectfully. When tenants move out, you'll fix up the vacant unit (repairs, painting, cleaning, etc.) to prepare for the new residents. You'll also complete scheduled inspections and maintenance on equipment like water heaters and smoke detectors. No matter what you're doing, you'll make sure to follow all HUD regulations, applicable codes, and safety protocols.
