As a part of PCSC, Foothills Retirement Community, is looking for a well-versed Maintenance Professional with a heart for service who has general knowledge and abilities in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC. The ideal candidate will be experienced in hands-on problem solving and overall facility maintenance including buildings, equipment, utility and electrical systems, etc. What you will do: The Maintenance Tech works closely with facility management and staff by performing, coordinating, and supervising various aspects of general and preventive maintenance to protect and maintain buildings, equipment, utility and electrical systems. Job duties also include the following, but not limited to: Perform general and preventative maintenance of all the Community’s facilities, equipment and tools. Ability to troubleshoot cause of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire alarm or irrigation problems and make appropriate basic repairs or respond to emergency calls as necessary Ensure proper maintenance and repair of all Community vehicles. Ensure proper storage and labeling of all chemicals, including paint. Maintain on-call status when scheduled and respond appropriately. Maintain infection control standards and regulatory compliance for areas overseen by State and/or Federal government. Complete reports and records as required promptly and accurately. Participate in disaster preparedness teams, educational training, and annual trainings. Assist in fire protection drills to ensure appropriate responses across the Community. Assist with resident evacuations, if ever required. Coordinate resident moves with resident and/or their families. Requirements What we are looking for: High school diploma or GED Valid South Carolina Driver’s license with a good driving record. 2 to 3 years of experience in maintenance at commercial facilities, school system, retirement communities, or hotels in all disciplines such as plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, refrigeration, ground maintenance, masonry and general maintenance. HVAC Universal certification a plus. Basic knowledge of swimming pools and swimming pool maintenance. Proficient in an array of carpentry, plumbing and mechanical tools. Reasonable computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. Preferred Education, Experience and Skills: Technical or Vocational Training in the fields of HVAC, Electrical and/or Plumbing CPO or higher certification General Physical Requirements: Employee is required to exert up to l00 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds frequently, and/or up to 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
