Description GENERAL SUMMARY: This is an hourly position in Manteno, IL that reports to the Maintenance Manager. Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for the overall maintenance of all manufacturing, facility, & support equipment. Perform preventive maintenance on all production & supporting equipment. Must communicate & interact with maintenance, production, & quality department personnel. Requirements SCOPE OF JOB FUNCTION: Maintain, trouble shoot, & support & repair of all production equipment & supporting equipment, e.g., air compressor, coolers, turbine, & material storage tanks. Determine materials, parts, & equipment to be used for repair, installation & stock. Coordinate & participate in scheduled & unscheduled preventive maintenance on all production & supporting equipment. Install, inspect, repair, & maintain the mechanical, electrical & other related systems in all production & supporting departments. Ability to inspect, operate & maintain heating, cooling, ventilation system, & water treatment devices for the entire plant. Coordinate with the supervisor scheduled & unscheduled work on the mechanical, electrical & other related systems throughout the entire plant. Complete all necessary documentation as described under company guidelines. Must perform all work in a safe & efficient manner, as assigned per shift. Ability to install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, & maintain the mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, & other related systems of all production & supporting department equipment in a safe & secure manner. Ability to meet & deal tactfully & courteously with fellow employees, vendors, & contractors. Must be able to read & understand complex written & oral instructions. Ability to read & troubleshoot electrical schematics. Must be able to program temperature controllers, Honeywell controllers, AC inverters, & DC controllers. Thorough understanding & knowledge of the occupation hazards & corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance of assigned duties. Other duties as assigned. SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: REQUIRED: 4-5 years’ related experience &/or training; or equivalent combination of education & experience. Must be able to fabricate & sanitary weld. Must have strong problem-solving skills. Solid knowledge of safety regulations & procedures. Must be flexible in daily schedule & willing to work overtime also during emergency situations. Must have a good driving record. Verbal & written English communication skills. Will interact with multiple departments within the organization. DESIRED: Knowledge of general manufacturing environment & practices.
