Overview Great Day Improvements / Champion Windows - Maintenance Technician 2nd Shift As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining current manufacturing equipment and assisting in developing and implementing changes in pursuit of continuous improvement goals. Must understand company mechanical integrity needs and maintain a Predictive Maintenance system in support of these requirements. Has knowledge of electronic and mechanical maintenance with regard to advanced fabrication equipment. Responsibilities · Working with supervisors and team leaders, supports plant-manufacturing equipment. · Identifies and implements improvement ideas. · Assists supervisors and team leaders in day-to-day problem solving. · Diagnose equipment problems and effectively repair the problems as well as considering future countermeasures and corrective actions. · Participate in “lean" manufacturing activities, improvement blitzes, and process studies. · Writes, updates, and maintains process, equipment, and work standards. · Communicates with supervisors and team leaders on a daily basis with regard to plant performance. · Maintain a PM system. · Works closely with manufacturing to ensure that product quality requirements are satisfied. · Assists manufacturing personnel in activities needed to meet and exceed Champion safety, quality, cost, and delivery targets and goals. · Examine and test machinery, equipment, components, and parts for defects to ensure proper functioning. · Installs or replaces machinery, equipment and new or replacement parts and instruments. · Cleans or lubricates vehicles, machinery, equipment, instruments, tools, work areas, and other objects. · Applies protective materials to equipment, components, and parts to prevent defects and corrosion. Qualifications · Must be able to perform each essential function successfully. · 2 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. · Has the ability to effectively communicate orally and verbally. · Knowledge of electronic and mechanical maintenance principles and practices. · Able to perform technical research and give reliable advice on difficult equipment problems. · Knowledgeable regarding PM systems. · Understands problem solving strategies and techniques. · Solid Attendance.
