Job Description Sofitel Wellington invites you to elevate your career as a Maintenance Technician, where luxury meets impeccable service. We are looking for an Ambassador for Sofitel Wellington as a Full-Time Maintenance Technician. The ambassador should have an eye for detail, a passion for creating magnifique luxury experience for our guests and developing a wonderful team. This is a full-time role where flexibility is essential. Weekend work (including Saturdays and Sundays) and public holidays may be required based on operational needs. Primary Responsibilities: Maintain, using safe working practices, the building, plant, equipment, fixtures and fittings to protect the asset and ensure it remains a functional, pleasant and safe environment for all guests, contractors, visitors and other employees. Day to day operation of the maintenance requirements of the hotel along with automatic chemical dispensers, VSD motors and control, Saflok electronic door locks. Complete daily plant rounds and note for repair any equipment that may appear or sound faulty. Carry out maintenance on mechanical equipment and water reticulation to ensure acceptable availability and reliability. Assist in the keeping up to date records on the repair and maintenance of plant and equipment on completion. Completing daily rounds sign off any relevant section of the Maintenance Manuals. Liaise with the Maintenance Manager/General Manager regarding all work in guest rooms and public areas to ensure out of order areas of the hotel are brought back to use as soon as possible. Complete all tasks where possible within a 15 minute time frame of receiving the request Report back to the Manager on Duty or Front Office the completion or delay, of any task that is guest related. Suggest any improvements that could be made to improve existing service or procedures, log and inform the General Manager of any service or system problems. This role is Full-Time (40 hours per week) - Must hold full NZ working rights. Qualifications At least 1 years' experience in Maintenance or similar industry; ideally in hotel/tourism industry however, not required. Trade qualified is preferred but not essential. Working knowledge of building compliance, risk management, and a passion for environmental sustainability. Be a hands-on person - This is not an admin based role. Be able to problem solve effectively, logically and resourcefully. Valid Full NZ drivers license. Strong presentation skills. Excellent Communication Skills - verbal and written.
