SUMMARY:

The role of the facilities coordinator will be to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the Anaphite facilities. In particular the successful candidate will focus on keeping the facilities and equipment in good condition, ensuring a safe and productive environment for employees and minimising disruption to operations. Additionally there will be an opportunity to help in the specification and design of new Anaphite facilities, including both office and lab space.We will need the successful candidate to demonstrate flexibility as the organisation is going through a period of rapid growth therefore no two days are the same. One day you may find yourself on the phone, raising support for a malfunctioning piece of laboratory equipment, the next supporting HVAC sub contractors to our site working of an air handling unit, all while simultaneously making sure everything is in safe and usable condition for our chemists.

Responsibilities
  • Perform regular inspections of facilities, including HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and safety systems;
  • Identify and address minor issues before they escalate;
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth facility operations, maintenance, and compliance with safety and sustainability standards;
  • Schedule and oversee preventative maintenance for equipment and building systems.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and unexpected repairs;
  • Perform basic repairs such as fixing light fixtures, leaks, or minor equipment malfunctions;
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialised repairs or services;
  • Monitor the progress and quality of work completed by external service providers;
  • Maintain an inventory of tools, spare parts, and maintenance supplies;
  • Order necessary supplies and materials to prevent delays in maintenance tasks;
  • Ensure safety systems like fire alarms and emergency exits are functional;
  • Address safety hazards such as spills, exposed wiring, or equipment malfunctions promptly;
  • Log maintenance activities, inspections, and repair work for record-keeping purposes;
  • Communicate recurring issues or facility concerns to management for long-term solutions;
  • Support workplace safety by ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and internal policies;
  • Assist in planning and implementing facility improvements or upgrades as needed;
  • Stay up to date with required training to ensure compliance with health, safety, and facility management best practices;
  • Respond to employee facility-related concerns and ensure quick resolution;
  • Minimise operational disruptions by maintaining a clean, safe, and functional work environment;
  • Support sustainability initiatives by assisting in waste reduction, energy efficiency, and responsible resource management within facility operations;
