Job Details Job Location: Ann Storck Center - Fort Lauderdale, FL 33317 Salary Range: $22.00 - $22.00 Hourly Position Summary: The Maintenance Technician performs a variety of work related to the general maintenance and repair of buildings, facilities and property. Areas of Responsibility: A. Repair and Maintenance 1. Performs repair and maintenance tasks as directed and following work orders. 2. Performs a weekly walk through of assigned buildings and checks the work order book for entries. 3. Addresses work orders in a timely manner; Gives priority to work orders related to safety. 4. Troubleshoots minor maintenance problems involving electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment repair or replacement. 5. Performs preventive building maintenance duties, caulks windows and doors, repairs and replaces broken windows. 6. Performs routine plumbing repairs such as unstopping toilets, sinks or urinals, fixing water leaks, leaking faucets and water fountains. 7. Performs routine electrical repairs such as changing light bulbs or fluorescent lamps and assists in repairing ballast and light fixtures. 8. Assembles and moves furniture, hangs pictures and bulletin boards, moves and sets up tables and chairs. 9. Repairs and replaces door knobs or locks, repairs door closures, patches holes in walls. 10. Paints interior and exterior walls. 11. Cleans outside windows, sidewalks and furniture. 12. Cleans A/C vents quarterly to eliminate dust build up. 13. Performs lawn maintenance and property clean-up as directed. 14. Assists W/C Adaptive Equipment Coordinator with deep cleaning and fumigation of wheelchairs. 15. Responds to maintenance needs after hours or on weekends as directed. 16. Performs other tasks related to special events, hurricane preparedness, distributing supplies, vehicle maintenance, etc. B. Storage 1. Transfers/retrieves items from storage as needed. 2. Keeps storage units and closets organized. 3. Documents all items transferred/retrieved from storage. 4. Obtains the proper authorization before transporting any items to or from storage. Qualifications MINIMUM EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 1. High School diploma or Equivalent. 2. Three years’ experience in a trade or maintenance role. 3. Current Florida Motor Vehicle license and automobile insurance with good driving record. 4. Knowledge of trades related to building maintenance and repair. 5. Knowledge of a variety of building maintenance procedures and techniques. 6. Knowledge of machinery, equipment, and tools necessary for building and property maintenance and repair; Skill in using hand and power tools. 7. Skills in following safety practices and recognizing hazards. 8. Skill in reading and following assembly instructions.
