Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance 401(k) Retirement Plan Paid Time Off and Sick Leave Bonus Eligible Primary Purpose of Position The Maintenance Technician is responsible for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and improvement of manufacturing equipment and facility systems used in composite manufacturing operations. This role supports the reliability and longevity of production equipment through structured preventative maintenance programs, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, and collaboration with engineering and operations teams. The position also performs general facility maintenance, light fabrication, and equipment modifications to support evolving manufacturing needs. Essential Responsibilities Preventative Maintenance & Equipment Reliability Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on production equipment to ensure operational reliability and minimize downtime Maintain preventative maintenance logs and equipment records Inspect and service critical systems including: Autoclaves Industrial ovens Vacuum systems Pumps and compressors Hydraulic and pneumatic systems Gearboxes and mechanical drives Identify wear, deterioration, or potential failure points and proactively recommend repairs or upgrades Mechanical Troubleshooting & Equipment Repair Diagnose and repair mechanical failures on manufacturing equipment and machinery Perform maintenance on: Gearboxes and drive systems Hydraulic systems Pneumatic systems Vacuum pumps and fluid pumps Screw compressors and air systems Work with Engineering and Production teams to identify root causes of equipment or process issues Electrical & Controls Support Perform light electrical troubleshooting and repair, including: Motors and motor controls Control panels Electrical components and wiring Digital and analog instrumentation Assist in diagnosing control system issues and coordinating with engineering or outside specialists when needed Ensure electrical work meets applicable safety standards Fabrication & Equipment Modification Assist with fabrication and modification of custom equipment and tooling used in manufacturing Provide design input and improvement suggestions for equipment upgrades Perform fabrication tasks including: Welding (TIG / MIG / Arc) Mechanical assembly Hydraulic and pneumatic system assembly Structural fabrication and machine builds Facility Maintenance Support overall facility operations through general maintenance tasks including: Lighting system repairs and upgrades HVAC system maintenance and basic troubleshooting Maintenance of facility infrastructure Freezer and temperature-controlled equipment support Light carpentry and structural repairs General building maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operations Safety & Continuous Improvement Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, reliability, and maintainability Support continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment uptime and operational efficiency Requirements Experience maintaining industrial or manufacturing equipment Mechanical troubleshooting experience with industrial systems Working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and vacuum systems Basic understanding of electrical systems and industrial controls Experience with welding, fabrication, or machine building preferred Ability to read mechanical drawings and technical documentation Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple maintenance priorities
