JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Building Maintenance Technician to join our team. The Maintenance Technician will help us provide top-notch service you our clients and their tenants by inspecting properties, identifying problems, planning solutions and completing repair work orders, as well as working with trades.
Note there may be an opportunity to have a studio apartment included as part of the compensation package.
This will start part-time, and more hours will be added as you prove yourself and we are able to offer more clients this service. Note we have approximately 200 rental units in varying degrees of maintenance health.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience and skill in maintenance roles, preferably within residential rental properties (like superintendent, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a customer service like manner, sometimes in difficult social situations
  • Own tools is an asset
  • Own vehicle is required (preferably van or truck) - mileage paid as part of compensation package (we have a trailer for larger jobs)
  • No criminal record. Must be bondable.
    Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
    Pay: $22.00-$30.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week

Responsibilities
  • Inspect properties/rental units as scheduled by property manager to identify current or potential maintenance issues
  • Report descriptions of issues and possible solutions where possible
  • Complete work orders as approved by property manager
  • Plan jobs, purchase materials, communicate feedback, make reports, meet with trades to ensure proper completion
  • Types of work orders: carpentry, renovations, minor plumbing repairs, drywall repairs, roofing repairs (within reason), regular household repairs (handyman/woman type work).
  • Some Cleaning/Janitorial Work
