ARMSCARE IS LOOKING FOR A FULL-TIME MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN TO JOIN OUR TEAM AT WHITEHAVEN CARE HOME IN SHERINGHAM, NORFOLK.

The Maintenance Technician shall be responsible for all the upkeep and repair duties for the Home. This will include routine and preventative maintenance to both the inside and outside of the premises. The maintenance of the home shall be completed to a high standard and within the company health and safety guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong mechanical knowledge and maintenance skills
  • Experience with power tools and equipment
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
    Pay: £12.30-£13.00 per hour

Responsibilities

THE PRIMARY AND MOST IMPORTANT ASPECTS OF THE ROLE:

  • To conduct and record routine inspections of premises and equipment.
  • To complete the Fire logbook and associated audits.
  • To perform preventative maintenance.
  • To perform routine maintenance.
  • To handle basic repairs and maintenance.
  • To make repairs to machinery, equipment or structures as necessary.
  • To provide an “on-call” service out of working hours to cover emergencies.

GENERAL ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • An ability to use common tools such as hammers, saws, drills, screwdrivers.
  • A skilled ability to use a variety of power tools.
  • An ability to change light bulbs and fixtures, ensuring they are in good working order.
  • To complete minor electrical work such as replace a damaged socket or light fitting.
  • To complete minor plumbing work such as replacing taps/washers/sinks and fitting.
  • To undertake general painting and decorating.
  • To keep work sheds and outbuildings clean and tidy.
  • To keep gutters free from debris.
  • To clean kitchen extractor fan on a monthly basis.
  • To have a complete understanding of all procedures and policies and carry those out as appropriate.
  • To perform any other duties as requested by the Manager.
