JOB DESCRIPTION:

Atlantic AutoCold is a fully automatic cold storage facility in Atlantic Canada. A conveyor system and four robotic cranes place and retrieve goods in racks up to 140 feet in height. Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS). We are currently recruiting for an Maintenance Technician with strong industrial, electrical, mechanical, and programmable logic controller (PLC) experience for our facility in Sackville, NB.

POSITION OVERVIEW

A self-starter with a “Can Do” attitude and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment, the maintenance technician installs, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs all mechanical, refrigeration and automation systems, and supports contracted specialists. The position provides support for automated material handling equipment, processing equipment, and building systems by using technical troubleshooting and problem-solving tools.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience with PLC and computer controls (Siemens).
  • Knowledge of AS-Interface systems.
  • Experience with controlled drive engineering.
  • Experience with automation technology (conveyors, automated cranes).
  • 3+ years of equipment maintenance experience, preferably with automation.
  • A degree/diploma relevant to the position is an asset.
    -Ability to read electrical, mechanical, and layout drawings
    -Ability to in low temperatures (Commercial Freezer) -25c
    -Ability to work at heights
    -Ability to produce an annual maintenance plan and budget

EXPERIENCE:

· Maintenance: 3 years (required)
· Automated cranes: 1 year (preferred)
· HVAC: 1 year (required)

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and perform on-site maintenance, calibration, and repair of electrical, mechanical, and automated systems.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC and automation systems.
  • Program and repair or replace sensors, scanners, visualization systems, motors, frequency inverters, and encoders.
  • Track ASRS machine performance.
  • Communicate effectively, and work with an international support team to ensure maximum system uptime and performance and other contracted specialists such as for HVAC.
  • Work with on-site staff and software developers to maintain system uptime.
  • Assist in identifying the root cause of faults and operation errors.
  • Analyze system daily operation reports to track and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
