Description
Description Barco Products is looking for a skilled full time on-site Maintenance Technician! The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. This role requires strong electrical and mechanical expertise, the ability to diagnose complex equipment issues, and the discipline to perform both reactive and preventive maintenance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Equipment & Process Support Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control system issues on production equipment Support automated and semi-automated equipment including CNC machines, waste collection systems, and other industrial fabrication tooling. Perform equipment changeovers, adjustments, and validations to support production schedules Partner with manufacturing, engineering, and distribution teams to resolve chronic equipment issues Preventive & Predictive Maintenance Execute preventive maintenance (PM) activities per established schedules and standards Identify failure trends and recommend corrective or predictive maintenance actions Document all maintenance activities accurately in the CMMS Assist in the development and continuous improvement of PM programs Electrical, Controls & Automation Troubleshoot motors, drives, sensors, relays, safety circuits, and basic PLC logic Perform lockout/tagout (LOTO) and electrical safety procedures in compliance with OSHA and NFPA standards Support troubleshooting of HMIs, vision systems, and basic robotics (where applicable) Facilities & Utilities Maintain plant utilities including compressed air, water, HVAC, and material handling systems Perform basic facility repairs (lighting, doors, guards, safety devices, etc.) Support contractors and vendors during facility or equipment service activities Safety, Quality & Continuous Improvement Maintain a strong safety mindset and proactively identify hazards or unsafe conditions Support root cause analysis (RCA) for downtime, scrap, and safety incidents Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to uptime, reliability, and cost reduction Ensure equipment repairs meet quality, safety, and regulatory requirements Requirements Required Qualifications / Experience 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment Proven ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical equipment issues independently Technical Skills Strong mechanical aptitude (bearings, gearboxes, chains, belts, pneumatics) Electrical troubleshooting skills (480V/240V/120V, motors, VFDs, control circuits) Experience reading electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and P&IDs Working knowledge of PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent) preferred Experience using a CMMS system Education / Certifications Technical degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent hands-on experience Electrical license or journeyman certification preferred but not required Soft Skills & Behavioral Expectations Strong problem-solving and diagnostic capability Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Clear communication with operators, engineers, and leadership High sense of ownership, urgency, and accountability Willingness to support off-shift, weekend, or on-call coverage as required Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs Comfortable working around moving machinery, heights, and industrial environments Ability to work extended hours during breakdowns or critical production events Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have) Experience in high-volume or high-mix manufacturing environments Welding, fabrication, or machining experience Robotics troubleshooting (Fanuc, ABB, UR, etc.) Lean / TPM / Reliability Maintenance experience Compensation / Benefits Pay rate: $30-35 per hour, plus monthly incentive plan based on company goal achievement Monthly incentive plan 401(k) with up to 4% match, fully vested on day one!
