Butler Rose is proud to be working in partnership with a well-established and highly regarded manufacturing business in Exeter, who are seeking to appoint a Multiskilled Maintenance Technician to join their Alloy Maintenance Department. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity working a rotating three-shift pattern.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completed a time-served apprenticeship with a minimum Level 3 qualification (BTEC, City & Guilds or equivalent).
  • Recent hands-on experience in a multiskilled maintenance role, with strong skills across electrical, pneumatic/hydraulic systems, fabrication, and welding.
  • Competent in interpreting technical diagrams and fault-finding on control panels.
  • Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces (medical assessment required).
  • Confident using computers and familiar with standard office software.
  • Proactive and resilient with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Capable of working independently while contributing effectively within a shift team.
    Desirable: Experience in vacuum technology, though not essential.

Responsibilities
  • Rapidly troubleshoot breakdowns and implement measures to prevent repeat occurrences.
  • Interpret electrical and mechanical drawings to carry out fault finding and system modifications.
  • Execute planned and preventative maintenance using a Maintenance Management System.
  • Contribute to reliability improvement initiatives across the site.
  • Maintain high EHS standards, keeping the work area clean, safe and compliant.
  • Continuously develop skills through ongoing training and development.
  • Undertake both electrical and mechanical tasks including fabrication, welding, and minor installations.
