Description

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • NVQ Level 3 qualification in an electrical or mechanical discipline (or similar).
  • Strong independent working skills across both mechanical and electrical disciplines.
  • Proven experience maintaining CNC machines.

Desirable skills:

  • Ability to understand a wide range of engineering functions and procedures.
  • Effective communicator who can liaise with people at all levels.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a logical, systematic approach.
  • Experience in an electrical maintenance or engineering technician role.
  • Ability to prioritise breakdowns and reduce factory downtime.
  • Familiarity with PLC controls, CMS software, and Microsoft Office packages.
  • Proactive and collaborative team member with a continual improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

WHAT DOES THE ROLE LOOK LIKE?

We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Technician to join the Collins Aerospace team at our Banbury site, within the Composites Value Stream. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the reliability and functionality of plant equipment and building facilities, supporting site development and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone with a collaborative mindset, a proactive attitude, and a passion for engineering excellence.

WHAT WILL YOUR DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES LOOK LIKE?

  • Service and maintain existing plant equipment and building facilities in line with preventative maintenance standards and procedures.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and carry out reactive maintenance activities.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot CNC machines.
  • Install and modify new equipment and safety systems.
  • Calibrate various equipment and machinery.
  • Support the movement and re-organisation of production lines.
  • Install services to support site development.
  • Assist in the implementation of changes to manufacturing processes.
  • Provide practical engineering support for a variety of tasks.
  • Produce work instructions for specific maintenance tasks.
