Description Skills of Central PA is currently hiring for a Full-Time Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance Department! The position will cover Cumberland County and may assist in York and Adams Counties. A Maintenance Tech will perform and/or schedule routine maintenance service and repairs of properties, equipment, furniture and fleet vehicles. Maintains a safe living environment within residential homes. MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs necessary repairs and renovations to sites and equipment, as needed. Assesses safety of physical environment of each site on a continual basis and addresses concerns in a timely manner. Completes monthly safety inspections, in consultation with supervisory personnel and eliminates hazardous conditions noted in safety inspection. Assesses and addresses household and grounds maintenance needs. Communicates maintenance needs to appropriate personnel and takes required follow-up action. Advises and ensures routine maintenance for mechanical and site equipment. Ensures completion of yearly heating and/or air conditioning maintenance and cleaning. Assists with or schedules the removal of snow and ice from sidewalks and driveways. Purchases maintenance tools, equipment and supplies in accordance with procedures. Orients new employees as assigned. Identifies and communicates personnel issues to management as needed. Completes and submits monthly mileage reports. Completes or schedules necessary vehicle maintenance and/or repairs, and inspects repairs upon return of the vehicle. Schedules and ensures the completion of any necessary cleaning (interior and exterior) for all vehicles. Requirements EDUCATION High School diploma or GED equivalent Some Vocational Technical level courses in the building maintenance trades EXPERIENCE Two (2) years as a maintenance assistant or related position. SPECIAL JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES • Familiarity and ability to use basic manual hand and power tools. • Knowledge of, and ability to make basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry repairs. LICENSURE Valid Driver’s License
