JOB SUMMARY:
Assists the maintenance department in performing duties that include, but are not limited to, preventative maintenance, breakdowns, new installations and restorations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Has knowledge of all farm operations, equipment, and maintenance responsibilities
- Has low voltage electrical experience and knowledge; completes minor electrical jobs
- Performs minor and major repairs on buildings and equipment unsupervised including, but not limited to, welding, replacing and repairing parts, hydraulics, pneumatics, low voltage electrical, and equipment, buildings and facilities
- Assists in training new maintenance associates
- Completes preventative maintenance duties and completes checklists as assigned
- Performs operational checks on boilers as scheduled (L, K only)
- Evaluates jobs and determines requirements
- Observes and reports any issues on farm
- May operate a computer which controls and monitors mechanical equipment and utility systems
- Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required
- Assists and supports contractors
- Assists in verifying that smoke detectors and fire extinguishers are operable, as requested
- Performs any other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with automated packaging lines, including flowpack machines and slicing & weighfiller systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and preventive maintenance skills for belt conveyors, plastic wrapping, label printing, and sealing systems.
- Eligible to work in Canada
- Must be at least 16 years of age
