You’ll be responsible for leading a team of technicians to deliver planned and corrective maintenance activities across the Sydney Light Rail fleet. Day-to-day, you’ll work with a close-knit team, efficiently utilizing resources to achieve contractual targets set by the Depot Manager, Operations Manager, and Project Manager, among others. This role will be on a rotating roster, which includes morning shifts (6 am-2 pm), afternoon shifts (2 pm-10 pm), and night shifts (10 pm-6 am) across weekdays and weekends.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Ensuring that Occupational Health and Safety and quality procedures are developed, maintained, and adhered to at all times
  • Overseeing in-depth fault finding, servicing, and repair of the LRVs (Light Rail Vehicles)
  • Training and mentoring your team to ensure they have the right tools, equipment, and competency required to perform the work
  • Leading process improvements and new ways of working within the depot
  • Driving efficiency within the team to improve availability and fleet performance

  • Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to lead and mentor a high-performing team
  • Previous experience in maintenance of rolling stock is preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels
