Description

Objective: Performs various installation and repair work on operating equipment and building maintenance. Work assignments may involve either electrical or mechanical or both.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty in a satisfactory manner. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • Must meet all GEON Clinton minimum entry requirements.
  • Must meet existing guidelines for changing jobs within the plant.
  • Must have a two year technical degree in electrical/mechanical repair or at least five years related maintenance experience.
  • Must be a good team participant and highly flexible to be able to address a wide variety of job duties
Responsibilities
  1. Performs work in a safe and concise manner.
  2. Install, repair, rebuild, and otherwise maintain a multitude of equipment relative to the total manufacturing process. Requires a broad knowledge of industrial technology to effectively diagnose machine malfunctions and operating difficulties.
  3. Rebuild machine and overhaul components and attachments to involve dismantling, inspection, repair or replacement of parts.
  4. Perform skilled operations such as fitting and aligning of bearings, spindles and shafts; align and calibrate measuring devices and moving parts, adjusting and feeding mechanisms.
  5. Coordinates the repairs of equipment, directing and instructing reliability coordinators who assist in the repair.
  6. Performs work having to do with installation of new machines, processing equipment, or relocation of existing machines to involve leveling, fitting, and aligning operations. Some welding will be required.
  7. Effectively utilizes piping/equipment specifications, machine design drawings, and manufacturer’s technical information to perform repairs. Works from machine design drawings, specifications, and manufacturer’s manuals to effect repairs.
  8. Performs a variety of electrical tasks, up and including PLC hardware and software. Performs electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
  9. Maintains housekeeping in maintenance and in plant work areas.
  10. Completes preventive maintenance tasks.
  11. Use of fork truck, scissor lift, and JLG lift required.
  12. Documents all work in eMaint system.

While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is regularly required to talk
or hear in a plant floor environment and be able to operate heavy motorized
equipment. Associates are exposed to noise, heat, cold, heights, and other
demanding elements. This position currently is scheduled on 12 hour night shifts,
7:30 p.m.. – 7:50 a.m, supporting a 24/7 facility but must be flexible to work any shift for maintenance coverage or training. Overtime may be required, along with mandatory work during plant shutdowns including holidays. Must stand or walk for a majority of the work shift. Manual labor is required most of the time.
