Description Position Summary We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our facilities operating at peak performance. This position is the backbone of our day-to-day physical environment, ensuring that every system, space, and piece of equipment supports the high-energy, patient-centered work that drives our mission. The role sits within Facilities / Operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, operational excellence, and compliance standards. The ideal candidate is self-directed, technically versatile, and takes real pride in a well-run facility. They notice issues before they become problems, communicate clearly, and understand that a safe, functional environment is integral to Gifthealth’s ability to deliver for prescribers, patients, and partners. Key Responsibilities Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, lighting, and mechanical equipment to minimize downtime and extend asset life. Reactive Repairs: Respond promptly to facility work orders, diagnosing and resolving issues across a range of trades including carpentry, drywall, painting, plumbing, and electrical. Inspections & Compliance: Conduct routine safety inspections, identify code or compliance concerns, and escalate issues that require licensed contractor involvement. Vendor Coordination: Assist in coordinating and supervising third-party contractors and service vendors for specialized work, ensuring quality and timeliness. Inventory & Supplies: Maintain an organized inventory of tools, parts, and supplies; manage reorders and track maintenance materials. Documentation: Log maintenance activities, work orders, and inspection results in the facilities management system accurately and on time. Emergency Response: Be available for on-call emergency maintenance situations as needed, including after-hours response for urgent facility issues. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve facility operations, energy efficiency, or maintenance workflows and bring recommendations to the Facilities Manager. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or GED required; vocational or technical training in a skilled trade preferred. Licensure/Certification: EPA 608, HVAC/R certification, OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred. Electrical journeyman or plumbing apprentice credentials a plus. Experience: 2+ years of experience in maintenance, facilities management, or skilled trades. Ability to safely operate ladders, scissor lifts, aerial work platforms, and other facility maintenance equipment as required to perform maintenance and repair activities at elevated heights. Skills: Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights, and perform tasks in varied environmental conditions Preferred: Experience with CMMS platforms (e.g., UpKeep, Hippo, ServiceNow) and familiarity with healthcare or regulated facility environments Strong understanding of facility safety standards, building codes, and preventive maintenance best practices Desired Attributes Self-directed and proactive: notices issues before they are reported and takes ownership of the facility environment Technically versatile: comfortable working across multiple trades rather than specializing in just one area Mission-minded: understands that a safe, functional facility is foundational to patient care and operational excellence Clear communicator: keeps stakeholders informed on work order status, timelines, and any issues requiring escalation Work Environment Location: On-site (variable locations) Schedule: Full-time; standard business hours with on-call availability for emergencies May require availability during evenings, weekends, or off-hours for urgent facility issues or on-call emergencies. Regular coordination with the Facilities Manager, Operations team, and third-party contractors to ensure facility alignment.
