OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled and versatile Greenhouse Maintenance Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a hands-on approach, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to manage a variety of maintenance tasks. You will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing equipment, managing maintenance tickets, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring the facility operates efficiently. Knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC, and greenhouse-specific machinery is a strong asset.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Proven experience in maintenance, repair, or a similar hands-on technical role; greenhouse or agricultural experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems and HVAC; formal certification is an asset.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot a wide range of equipment.
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and equipment diagrams.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Strong communication skills for coordinating with staff, contractors, and management.
• Physically fit and comfortable working in greenhouse environments, including warm or humid conditions.

PREFERRED SKILLS & ASSETS

• Experience with greenhouse automation systems.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance planning software.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends during critical repair needs.

• Maintenance & Repairs
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain greenhouse systems, including irrigation, ventilation, conveyors, and automated equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
• Maintain an organized inventory of parts, tools, and supplies.
• Ticket & Task Management
• Review and prioritize maintenance tickets submitted by greenhouse staff.
• Track progress, provide timely updates, and ensure issues are resolved efficiently.
• Document all work performed for accurate recordkeeping and future reference.
• Contractor Coordination
• Liaise with third-party contractors for specialized services, including electrical, HVAC, and structural repairs.
• Oversee contractor work to ensure compliance with safety standards and company expectations.
• Assist in obtaining quotes and coordinating schedules to minimize disruption to operations.
• Safety & Compliance
• Follow health and safety protocols while performing all tasks.
• Identify and report potential hazards or safety concerns to management.
• Support regular safety inspections and audits.
