Maintenance Technician – Heating Systems (FIFO) Matrix Camps & Logistics Project-Based Contract | Rotation (3x3) | Remote Camp Job Overview Matrix Camps & Logistics is seeking a Maintenance Technician – Industrial Heating Systems to support heating operations at a remote camp location in Northern Canada. This role is critical to ensuring the safe and continuous operation of industrial heating systems in extreme cold environments. The successful candidate will maintain a large fleet of heating units, including Frost Fighter heaters, waste oil systems, and ToyoStove diesel heaters. This is a project-based role running through spring into June 2026, with a rotational schedule (3X3). Key Responsibilities Industrial Heater Maintenance Inspect, service, and repair Frost Fighter industrial heaters Perform preventative maintenance and winterization Complete full heater teardowns, reassembly, and component replacement Conduct standardized testing and performance diagnostics Waste Oil & Diesel Heating Systems Service Energy Logic waste oil heaters and burners Maintain glycol circulation systems Rebuild and service Toyostove diesel heaters Ensure carbon monoxide and safety compliance standards are met Field & Operational Support Provide on-site support at a remote camp environment Maintain accurate maintenance logs and safety documentation Work closely with site supervisors and flight crews to support ongoing operations Assist in continuous monitoring of heating systems to ensure operational reliability 3+ years of experience maintaining industrial or commercial heating systems Experience with Frost Fighter, Toyostove, or Energy Logic heaters Working knowledge of glycol heating systems Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills (electrical, plumbing, gas) Comfortable working in cold, remote environments Valid Class 5 driver’s license Preferred / Assets Red Seal Gas Fitter or Mechanical certification Remote camp or industrial work experience Experience in mining, energy, or construction environments Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) experience Schedule & Work Conditions Rotation: 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off Shift: 12-hour days (day or night shift rotation) Project Duration: April to June 2026 (with potential extension) Work Location: Goose Lake Main Camp (remote site) Camp & Accommodations Camp accommodations provided (single rooms or shared facilities depending on location) Full access to kitchen, recreation areas, and on-site amenities All travel to and from site is arranged and paid by the employer Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly rate (based on experience) Paid travel days Join Our Elite Team Matrix professionals thrive in high-stakes environments, backed by unbiased expertise and career growth.
