MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN LOCATION: 119-SOUTHERN UTAH VETERANS HOME - IVINS, ST. GEORGE, UT, 84738 POSITION SUMMARY The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the Southern Utah Veterans Home facilities. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining building systems, equipment, and infrastructure to support a comfortable and safe environment for residents and staff. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Perform routine and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. * Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs. * Inspect and maintain building systems including lighting, heating, cooling, and water systems. * Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs or coordinate with external contractors as needed. * Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections. * Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes. * Assist with facility setup and modifications as required. * Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance tools and work areas. * Collaborate with other departments to support facility operations. QUALIFICATIONS * High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification preferred. * Proven experience in maintenance, repair, or a related field. * Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems. * Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. * Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Good communication and interpersonal skills. * Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods. * Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends if necessary. WORK ENVIRONMENT This position operates in a healthcare facility environment. The Maintenance Technician may be exposed to various conditions including noise, dust, and chemicals, and must adhere to all safety protocols.
