Howard Building Maintenance is looking for a dependable, hands-on Maintenance Technician to help support the daily operations of a professional medical complex in the Caldwell area. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety in their day, takes pride in keeping things running smoothly, and likes being the go-to person for solving problems and improving facilities. If you’re observant, proactive, mechanically minded, and enjoy staying active throughout the workday — this could be an excellent fit. No two days are exactly the same. One day may involve preventative maintenance and facility inspections, while another could focus on troubleshooting equipment, coordinating repairs, or helping improve the overall appearance and functionality of the property. What You’ll Be Doing Perform daily walkthroughs of the facility to inspect interior and exterior conditions Monitor and maintain lighting, safety signage, and building appearance Complete preventative maintenance and light repair work Monitor HVAC temperature controls and building systems Ensure restrooms and common areas remain clean, stocked, and functional Check stairwells, walkways, exits, and parking areas for safety and cleanliness Monitor mechanical systems including boilers, pumps, and fire alarm panels Help maintain overall grounds appearance and identify maintenance needs Log reports, track tasks, and communicate updates using company software Oversee elevator cleanliness and general facility presentation Respond to maintenance concerns in a timely and professional manner What We’re Looking For We’re searching for someone who is: Reliable and self-motivated Observant and detail-oriented Comfortable working independently Mechanically inclined and eager to learn Professional with strong communication skills Organized and proactive in problem-solving Comfortable using computers and learning new software systems Requirements: Ability to walk large facilities and climb stairs regularly Ability to lift and move equipment when needed Strong troubleshooting mindset Commitment to professionalism and quality work Schedule Monday–Friday Daytime Hours Occasional weekend availability may be needed based on facility needs Why Join Howard Building Maintenance?
