Description

Our client Tregarthen’s Hotel, on the beautiful Isles of Scilly are recruiting a skilled, full-time hotel maintenance technician to join their team. In this position you will report to the General manager and will play a key role in maintaining the hotel premises, equipment, and staff accommodation. This role requires a combination of technical skills, problem solving abilities, and creating a safe environment for the guests. This is a live in position, you will be provided staff accommodation within the hotel, and you will be required to work various shifts averaging 40 hours per week over 5 days. Shifts will be allocated 4 weeks in advance.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

· Proven track record in similar role
· Proficiency in various trade skills
· Ability to preform physical tasks, including lifting heavy objects, working in tight spaces, and working at height
· The ability to diagnose and fix a variety of issues
· A keen eye for detail to ensure high standards of work
· Self-motivated and proactive with a flexible, can-do attitude
· A working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices
· Driving licence is an advantage

Responsibilities

· Conduct routine maintenance inspections
· Perform various repairs, including plumbing, painting, electrical etc
· Respond to guest repair requests in a timely and efficient manor
· Carry out preventative maintenance on tools and equipment
· Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including PAT testing, and log as appropriate
· Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and parts
· Assist with porterage and deliveries on busy days
· Work closely with hotel management to schedule maintenance jobs
· Ensure work areas are kept clean, tidy, and organised
