Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Maintenance Technician with a strong background in HVAC and commercial refrigeration systems to oversee the general upkeep and maintenance for our six restaurant locations in the Barrie, Orillia, Collingwood and Wasaga Beach area. While a deep expertise in HVAC and refrigeration is our top priority, the ideal candidate will also be a proactive, problem-solving professional capable of handling a wide range of general repair and maintenance tasks. This is a critical role for ensuring our facilities and equipment operate efficiently, safely, and without interruption.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proven, extensive experience as a commercial HVAC and Refrigeration Technician.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and general carpentry.
• Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently across multiple locations.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
• Experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform tasks that require physical exertion, such as climbing ladders, bending, and kneeling.
• Comfortable working in various weather conditions and environments, including kitchens, basements, and on rooftops.

• Primary Focus - HVAC & Refrigeration: Act as the lead technician for all preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on commercial refrigeration units (e.g., walk-in coolers, freezers, ice machines) and all HVAC systems (e.g., air conditioners, ventilation, heating units).
• Troubleshooting and Repair: Quickly and accurately diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions related to HVAC and refrigeration, including issues with compressors, condensers, evaporators, and electrical components.
• General Maintenance: In addition to the primary focus, handle a variety of general repair and maintenance tasks, including but not limited to:
• Plumbing: Addressing leaks, clogs, and fixture repairs.
• Electrical: Performing basic electrical repairs and diagnostics.
• Carpentry: Handling minor carpentry tasks like door, frame, and shelving repairs.
• General Repairs: Performing tasks such as painting, drywall repair, and window maintenance.
• Maintain detailed records of all maintenance work performed, including parts used and labor hours.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency service calls to minimize operational disruptions.
• Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs when necessary.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards and regulations.
