Description Maintenance Technician I Louisville, KY Day Shift (6 AM–6 PM): $22–$26/hr. (DOE) Night Shift (6 PM–6 AM): $23–$27/hr. (DOE, includes shift differential) AWS Schedule | 12-Hour Rotating Shifts Paid 30-Minute Lunch Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire What This Job Is Really About If you’re mechanically inclined and like working with your hands, this is a great opportunity to build your maintenance skills in a real industrial environment. You’ll be working on production equipment, facility systems, and electrical components—helping troubleshoot issues, make repairs, and keep operations running alongside experienced technicians. What Your Day May Look Like Start your shift with a safety meeting Review work orders and maintenance priorities Inspect equipment and troubleshoot issues on the floor Perform repairs to get machines back up and running Complete preventive maintenance before problems happen Replace worn parts and test equipment after repairs Work alongside other techs on larger or recurring issues Log work completed and prep for next shift What You’ll Be Working On Packaging lines, conveyors, and processing equipment Motors, pumps, compressors, and drive systems Electrical systems (wiring, panels, components) HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, and air handlers Facility systems (lighting, plumbing, walls, floors, etc.) Tools & Equipment: Hand tools & power tools (drills, saws, wrenches, hoists) Multimeters and electrical testing equipment Precision measuring tools CMMS/work order systems Blueprints, schematics, and repair manuals What You’ll Be Doing Troubleshoot, repair, and replace mechanical and electrical components Perform preventive maintenance (lubrication, inspections, filter changes) Inspect motors, belts, drives, and fluid levels using checklists Assemble, install, and repair wiring and equipment Dismantle equipment to access and replace defective parts Fabricate or modify parts as needed using tools and specs Test machinery to diagnose malfunctions and verify repairs Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and work completed Assist with inventory tracking for parts and supplies Support and learn from experienced technicians on the team Requirements What You Bring 1–3+ years of maintenance or mechanical experience Basic mechanical skills (repairs, tools, troubleshooting) Some electrical knowledge (wiring, components, testing) Ability to read basic schematics or manuals Willingness to learn and grow in maintenance Team-oriented with a strong work ethic Bonus If You Have Industrial or manufacturing experience Welding or fabrication experience Experience with CMMS systems Forklift or equipment experience Work Environment Active industrial setting (on your feet, hands-on work) Ability to lift heavy objects and work at heights or on ladders Rotating 12-hour AWS schedule (days or nights) Why This Role Is Worth It Competitive pay based on your experience Built-in shift differential for nights Paid lunch Opportunity to gain real mechanical + electrical experience Temp-to-hire with long-term potential Apply Today If you’re reliable, hands-on, and ready to build your maintenance skills, this is your chance to get in and grow.
