Rochester products are sold to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) & distributors in the following markets: Agricultural • Aircraft • Automotive • Refrigeration • Industrial • LP Gas Marine • Heavy Truck • Off-Road • Construction • Locomotive Petrochemicals • Process Equipment MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN I OVERVIEW To build, repair and maintain all types of industrial equipment with the main focus on electrical diagnostics of PLCs and machine controls   RESPONSIBILITIES * Uses all basic hand tools safely and efficiently: including electric hand drills and saws to perform tasks. * Operates all shop equipment in safe and efficient manner including lathes, mills, grinders, drill presses, and power saws. * Accurately trouble-shoots and may program machine controls including PLC, hydraulics, and pneumatics. * Uses standard measuring instruments accurately and efficiently in performing tasks such as tape measures and calipers. * Safely and efficiently operates welding and cutting equipment to make repairs and fabrications. * Accurately records time and work performed on each work order. * Operates forklifts and powered lift trucks in a safe manner. * Safely and efficiently performs routine preventive maintenance service on machines as required. * Performs light carpentry and construction work as needed.  * Safely and efficiently repair plumbing fixtures and perform normal pipe fitting duties. * Repairs and installs all types of lighting fixtures, which may include working from 30' tall platforms, ladders, and/or lifts. * Performs all tasks with minimum supervision. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE * Five or more years of maintenance experience. * High school diploma or equivalent. * Experience in general building, mechanical, plumbing, welding/cutting and electrical maintenance in industrial facilities and grounds. * Experience with drawing and reading mechanical/electrical schematics/blueprints. * Solid oral and written business communication skills (bilingual Spanish a plus). * Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) * Good organizational and work prioritization skills. * Desire for growth and advancement.   TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS   Up to 10% travel may be required    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS    While performing the duties of this job, employees may be required to walk for prolonged periods of time, frequently bending, climbing, rotating, squatting, reaching, kneeling, or stooping, lifting up to 40 pounds, and periods of computer use.
