Description POSITION SUMMARY: Prioritize safety and adhere to best practices at all times. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair physical plant utilities, including but not limited to electrical (high and low voltage), compressed air, plumbing, HVAC, and vacuum systems. Support production automation equipment including mixers and powder presses. Equipment readiness and production uptime is critical. The ideal candidate is an experienced, methodic troubleshooter who takes pride in performing high-quality work ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prioritize safety and doing the job right. Follow best practices. No shortcuts Be familiar with and comply with OSHA regulations Keep the facility in good condition: Perform PMs per procedure and schedule, repair downed equipment promptly and correctly Demonstrate strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Set up and change over tooling to meet production needs Maintain a clean and organized work environment; leave work areas in better condition than found Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and diagrams Properly use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments Knowledge of and follow proper LOTO practices Support continuous improvement mindset Other duties as assigned SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Basic mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic aptitude Understanding of preventative maintenance principles Ability to operate machines and hand-tools relevant to a manufacturing environment Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems and take initiative to correct or seek immediate assistance Ability to assemble and disassemble equipment Ability to read and follow equipment manufacturer’s specifications, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical diagrams Requirements MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS*: AAS Degree or *equivalent experience, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a production manufacturing environment. Requires familiarity with PC based data collection methods and Microsoft Windows operating environment. Must have a working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems/components. Electro-mechanical skills, ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and fluid power breakdowns on manufacturing and facility equipment. Basic Computer Experience (PC based) data collection methods and Microsoft Windows operating environment. *Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted. Preferred -Not Required *: • Experience working on EX rated equipment or within hazardous environments • Humidity control systems equipment • Powder handling in manufacturing environments • Ability to develop technical documentation (drawings, instructions, procedures) • Experience with job tracking/scheduling and parts inventory • Train others in procedures and proper methods • PLC programming (ladder logic) • Experience moving, installing, and starting up new equipment • Project leadership experience • Documented HAZWOPER and safety training • Computer skills – Proficiency in MS Excel WORK ENVIRONMENT / CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work will take place in a combination office/shop environment often without climate control. Work will include occasional weekends and holidays, as well as require the candidate to be on-call for special instances. During the duties of this job, employees will be exposed to mechanical or chemical processes requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). The employee may encounter controlled air conditions with frequent air changes, environmental exposure, and lift up to 60 pounds. These are considered essential duties and are illustrative of those job tasks, which are fundamental. Employees may be required to perform additional related duties as they may be assigned by management.
