QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1–2 years of experience in tractor/trailer repair or diesel maintenance
  • Strong understanding of shop operations and mechanical systems
  • Able to independently diagnose and repair common tractor and trailer issues
  • Experience conducting federal inspections and completing ROs
  • Familiar with FleetRock or similar maintenance software (training available)
  • Organized and efficient with a strong sense of accountability
  • Dependable attendance and commitment to repair timelines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to mentor junior techs
  • Physically capable of performing medium-to-heavy repairs in shop conditions

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you ready to level up your diesel maintenance career? As a Maintenance Technician II at Paul Logistics, you’ll take on greater responsibility in diagnosing and repairing fleet equipment, managing parts inventory, and supporting shop efficiency. This role is ideal for someone with at least a year of hands-on mechanical experience who’s ready to step into a leadership-track position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform repairs on both trailers and tractors, including diagnosing mechanical issues
  • Conduct and document Annual Federal Inspections in compliance with DOT standards
  • Complete detailed Repair Orders (ROs) including accurate parts and time tracking
  • Support inventory control by logging parts usage and flagging inventory errors
  • Use FleetRock and iPads to manage repair processes and digital documentation
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Shop Manager to suggest process improvements
  • Mentor entry-level techs and contribute to a productive, team-oriented shop culture
  • Promote OSHA safety compliance and high-quality repair standards across the team
  • Spot-check completed work and document inspection results for quality assurance
  • Work cross-functionally with other departments to ensure timely repairs and feedback
  • Accept additional duties as assigned with a positive and proactive mindset
