Description POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director of Facilities, the position of Maintenance Technician 2 is to maintain the general appearance of the campus, including buildings, grounds and infrastructure. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: N/A ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Completes daily maintenance duties such as trash removal, building repairs, responding to maintenance calls and snow removal. 2. Participates in long-term maintenance projects, such as repair/remodel of rooms, buildings and other improvements to grounds and infrastructure. 3. Operates equipment safely, including but not limited to trucks, ground equipment, carpentry tools, etc. 4. Completes routine maintenance of equipment to ensure good working condition. 5. Maintains a clean and safe working environment, including vehicle construction areas. 6. Works independently or as a team member to complete assignments in a timely manner. 7. Attends and participates in meetings and training sessions. 8. Works regularly-scheduled weekend rotations; must be able to arrive early or stay late when bad weather (snow) or other needs arise. 9. As a 24-hour operation, all staff may be asked to work weekends, evenings, night shifts and/or holidays in order to serve our members, guests, and program participants. Requirements · A high school degree or equivalent is required. · With 1-3 years of experience, demonstrates a high-level of expertise in grounds keeping, painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and mechanical repairs. · Demonstrated high-level of expertise in grounds keeping, painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and mechanical repairs is required. · Must have the ability to interpret data, oral and written. · An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. · Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups of people representing all social and economic segments of the community. · A valid driver’s license is required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires the ability to stand, walk, kneel, stoop, lift, pull, climb, and push for prolonged periods; must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces. Other physical requirements may include ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
