Description Immediate permanent Maintenance Technician III opportunity for a growing manufacturing plant located in Crystal Lake, Illinois. This senior-level position is responsible for advanced troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of production equipment, CNC/industrial controls, and facility infrastructure. The role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities to ensure maximum equipment uptime, safety, and operational efficiency. Job Responsibilities Diagnose and repair complex mechanical systems, including gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, presses, cranes/hoists, and precision components. Overhaul hydraulic and pneumatic systems; fabricate/machine repair parts as required. Perform preventive maintenance on forklifts, vehicles, and other plant equipment. Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate CNC machines (Fanuc, Siemens, Haas, Okuma, Mazak, Mitsubishi, etc.). Resolve electrical/control issues involving drives, servo motors, encoders, amplifiers, relays, and I/O modules. Backup, restore, and adjust machine parameters; assist with CNC program edits. Maintain and repair facility systems, including HVAC, lighting, plumbing, electrical panels, and compressed air. Perform building and seasonal maintenance, including roof inspections and snow removal coordination. Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures; comply with OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and company standards. Maintain safety devices and participate in safety initiatives and audits. Mentor junior technicians in CNC, PLC, and mechanical troubleshooting. Support additional projects across departments when needed. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/trade school preferred. 8+ years of industrial maintenance experience, including: 3+ years with CNC machinery and controls (required). 5+ years mechanical repair/troubleshooting (required). Proven facility maintenance background. Expertise in mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and machining. Advanced CNC controls and PLC troubleshooting skills. Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams. Proficient with diagnostic tools (multimeter, oscilloscope, laser alignment, vibration analyzer). Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean record. Ability to stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. Comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying temperatures. Strong problem-solving and leadership abilities with excellent communication skills. Willingness to work rotating shifts (every two weeks), weekend duty (every third week), and overtime as business needs dictate. Pay: $34.00 to $38.00 hourly.
