Description
Summary of Job – Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting facility in installation, maintenance, and repairing machinery and physical structures. The Maintenance Technician will also troubleshoot and repair a variety of systems including, but not limited to, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical by performing the tasks and functions of the role. All work performed must adhere to Safety and EPA rules and regulations Function & Scope of Responsibility – • Follow all departmental and company safety rules and procedures such as Lockout Tagout 5S program • Commission and decommission equipment as needed • Install, maintain and repair machinery, equipment and facilities • Troubleshoot, repair and perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems • Support in equipment and machinery upgrades • Use various test equipment to detect malfunctions and discusses machine variations with operators and other maintenance workers to diagnose problem and make necessary repairs • Performs preventative maintenance on equipment, machines and facilities including but no limited to; piping, machining, presses, furnaced, welding, fabrication equipment and facilities • Reading and interpretation of technical drawings such as mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic • PLC troubleshooting and updates • ABB robot maintenance and repair • Capable of operating forklifts, manlifts, and cranes • Stick and Wire welding and capability of using cutting torches • Capable of operating manual mills, manual lathes and other standard shop equipment • Punctual and self-motivated • Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor Authority/Decision Making – • Shutting down any process where safety is a concern • Working with management on equipment shutdowns for repairs Skills, Knowledge, Experience Required • SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, and procedure manuals. Education or Professional Qualifications EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE • High school diploma or general education degree • Successful completion of maintenance certification and/or 2 year experience in industrial maintenance performing the above mentioned responsibilities and duties • Or two year technical certification/degree with 1 year experience in industrial maintenance performing the above mentioned responsibilities and duties Other Requirements/ Comments – • PLC programming a plus • Repairing CNC equipment and troubleshooting a plus • Repairing and troubleshooting heat treating furnaces a plus Ideal Location (s) of residency • Commutable distance Monday - Friday; 6:30am - 4pm with mandatory overtime
