QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary diploma/degree in Electro-Mechanical, Industrial Maintenance, Automation, or related field.
  • 1 + years operating or maintaining automated equipment; capable of diagnosing complex mechanical/electrical issues with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient with hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, basic PLC/HMI navigation, and ultrasonic-welding (asset).
  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to create clear maintenance notes and train small groups.
  • Demonstrated commitment to learning, safety, and structured problem-solving.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Confident with wrenches, drills, hoists, micrometers, calipers, and basic multimeter use.
  • Able to read simple mechanical drawings and follow SOPs/work instructions.
  • Clear verbal and written communicator; comfortable in one-on-one and small-group settings.
  • Basic welding/fabrication skills (or willingness to learn).
  • Safety-first mindset—lock-out/tag-out, WHMIS, and PPE compliance at all times.
Responsibilities
  • Preventive & corrective maintenance – Execute scheduled PM and tackle unplanned breakdowns to GMP and safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot & diagnose – Isolate mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and control faults using test equipment, PLC/HMI alarms, and operator feedback.
  • Repair & optimize – Restore equipment to full speed/quality, documenting all parts, labour, and follow-up actions in the CMMS.
  • Technical documentation – Read/interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, blueprints, and relevant code specifications; update SOPs as needed.
  • Continuous learning – Master new installations, set-ups, PLC/HMI programming steps, and ultrasonic-welding parameters; share best practices with peers.
  • Operator support & training – Demonstrate safe start-up/shutdown, changeovers, and basic troubleshooting to new operators; communicate machine hazards clearly.
  • Safety leadership – Follow LOTO, WHMIS, and company policies; flag potential mechanical or electrical hazards to the Team Lead immediately.
  • Housekeeping & compliance – Keep work areas 5S-clean, ensure guards/safety devices are functional, and complete any other duties assigned to meet production goals.
